Chocolate Covered Cherry Milkshake

1 cup Homeland Creamery chocolate milk
1 cup Homeland Creamery vanilla ice cream
½ cup maraschino cherries, drained

  1. In a blender, combine milk, ice cream, and cherries and blend until almost smooth. Pour into glasses and top with whipped cream if desired.

 

Oyster Stew

 ½ cup Homeland Creamery butter
1 cup minced celery
3 tablespoons minced onions
1 quart of Homeland Creamery half and half
2 (12 ounce) containers fresh shucked oysters, undrained
Salt and pepper to taste
1 pinch of cayenne pepper, or to taste

  1.  Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat, and cook the celery and onions until the onion is tender.
  2. Pour the half and half into a large pot over medium heat. Mix in the butter, celery, and onion mixture. Stir continuously.
  3. When the mixture is almost boiling, pour the oysters and their liquid into the pot.  Season with salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper.
  4. Stir continuously until the oysters curl at the ends.  When the oysters curl the stew is finished cooking; turn off and serve.


Death by Chocolate

 1 package chocolate cake mix
½ cup extra strength coffee/kahlua
4 cups Homeland Creamery milk
2 pkgs instant chocolate pudding

2 cups Homeland Creamery cream

6-45g bars of Crispy Crunch or any chocolate candy bar chopped 

  1. Prepare and cook cake according to package directions in 13x9 inch pan. Cool. Cut into bite sized pieces.
  2. Place half the cake into 13x9 inch dish. Drizzle with half the coffee. In a large bowl combine milk and pudding.
  3. Beat with a wire whisk or electric mixer, about 2 minutes. Pour half the pudding over the cake. Whip cream. Spread half the whipped cream over the pudding.
  4. Sprinkle with half the chocolate bars. Repeat layers. Cover. Refrigerate several hours or overnight.


Homemade Cornbread

1 ½ cups self rising cornmeal
½ cup self rising flour
2 eggs
1 1/3 cups of Homeland Creamery buttermilk
¼ cup shortening or oil 
  1. Heat shortening/oil in a 10” inch cast iron frying pan. Mix all other ingredients together. Pour hot shortening/oil into mix and then back into pan.
  2. Bake at 425 degrees for 25 minutes or until brown.  Serve hot with Homeland Creamery butter.

Buttermilk Pie

1 stick melted butter
2 cups sugar
3 tablespoons flour
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup of Homeland Creamery buttermilk

  1. Mix all ingredients and pour in a deep dish crust. Bake at 350 degrees until pie is brown and set.
